Oregon Fly Fishing

Oregon is where many fly fishing enthusiasts move to after fishing around the world. Bend, Oregon, has seen population growth that is among the highest in the country. One of the reasons is its proximity to the Deschutes river, a dream waterway for fly fishing. Another increasingly popular relocation destination is southern Oregon and the Rogue river valley. Sure the weather is nice, but even nicer are the rivers that flow from the Cascades or into the sea in this region. The Eugene, Oregon area is another popular landing spot. That may be due to the fact that 45 minutes out of this town of 200,000 you are fishing the McKenzie river, with water as clear as a window. These and others are easily among the world's most scenic and pure, and are where fly fishing dreams come true.

So, whether you live in Oregon, plan to visit, or intend to move here, we are confident you will find it to be all that one can hope for fly fishing. From north (on the Sandy and Clackamas rivers) to south (on the Rogue or Umpqua rivers) east (check out the Wallowa and Grand Ronde) to west (Chetco, Elk, and Sixes are phenomenal coastal tributaries) and even in the dead center of the state (McKenzie and Deschutes) there are rivers that are simply perfect for fly fishing.

Wilderness Fishing outfits drift boat trips on all of these rivers. Our team of outfitter/guides that are respectively based on these rivers throughout the state, no first-hand and full-well how to have fun catching steelhead, trout, salmon, and more on blue-ribbon rivers.

For those new or newer to fly fishing we have many options as well. One would be to relax and rest assured that on any of the trips we offer we are honored and happy to teach you fishing techniques from A to Z that will enable you to entice fish to bite. From casting to knot tying, tackle to entymology (what fish eat) our guides double as master fly fishing instructors who patiently and positively help you learn. Another option would be to take a private lesson or participate in a fly fishing class. We have guide/instructors in the Portland, Bend, Eugene, and Grants Pass area that would love to help you fall in love with this science and art.
