The Elk river, located near Port Orford and Bandon, Oregon, offers crystal clear fishing waters that teem with salmon and steelhead. This river clears quickly after rains, due to its bedrock geology that also makes it so clear. As such, when other Oregon rivers are not able to fish due to high and muddy water, the Elk is a great one to drift. It is a pretty river without much traffic or development, and it hosts a healthy steelhead population in winter months. We also offer fall chinook trips on the Elk on a charter trip basis. Both day and overnight trips are available on this river. A favorite trip of many is to fish the Elk one day and the Sixes another, with the overnight in a beautiful Port Orford vacation rental.
