Mount Hood Lakes Fishing

Fishing the Sixes RiverMt. Hood is the tallest mountain in Oregon, reaching into the sky over 11,000 feet. At its base lie a number of sparkling jewel alpine lakes. We are the only outfitter that offers lake fishing and fly fishing instruction in this region, regularly described as a little slice of heaven. We outfit personalized hike in and drive in lake fishing trips on Trillium, Frog, and Twin Lakes.

Trillium Lake is located two miles off the highway just south of Mt. Hood. This small and idyllic lake is a great place to learn to fly fish and to try your hand landing a stocked pan-sized trout. It is less than an hour from downtown Portland but the views feel like you are a world away! It is a sublime fishing hole, with May and June being ideal months to catch fish and April through October a good time for learning to fly fish in a setting more spectacular than most on earth.

Frog Lake is also as pretty as they come. Located near the hamlet of Government Camp, Oregon, Frog Lake is home to a campground, pine trees, crystal clear water, and a few hundred brook trout. Here, at this out-of-the-way we offer shore-based fly fishing trips and instruction. We provide all of the gear required for your trip. We highly recommend you bring your camera.

Twin Lakes is more isolated than Trillium and Frog Lake. A scenic three mile hike, both Lower and Upper Twin Lakes are small but beautiful brook trout waters. What makes this trip so special is that you are in the middle of nowhere fishing into clear shimmering ponds with only the wind making noise and the sun warming your back. If you have tired of the hub bub buzz of city life or are road weary, give yourself a day to stretch your legs, hone your casting, hook a fish, and breathe clean air.
